Crockham Hill Village Society
- Following the public meeting at the end of October, at which the formation of a Village Society was discussed, the inaugural committee meeting took place on November 6th. It was agreed that the simple aim of the Society should be to improve the village for all – residents, those who regularly come to the village for whatever reason, and those who simply pass through from time to time.
The committee has several ideas, including a village party, bulb planting, an event to publicise all the different village activities, and contacting utility companies again about installing mains gas. We still need more ideas and there are many ways to contribute. There will be suggestion boxes located in popular places such as the church and pub. There is an e-mail address: info@crockhamhillevents.co.uk - or you can contact me (see below). Over the next few weeks we’d like to whittle down the list and settle on four or five things to take forward at any one time. We really want these to be your ideas, so please make suggestions, however small.

Crockham Hill traffic control
- Kent Highways Agency have agreed to design speed reduction measures in Crockham Hill following the traffic survey earlier this year. Payment for the design work will be made from the current financial year budget, with implementation in 2007-8. The residents of the village would like to see the project completed without delay, and will continue to keep up the pressure. The lack of street lighting has resulted in the declining of a possible Zebra Crossing, however a more informal crossing may result.
