Crockham Hill Tennis Club, News and Results
ANYONE FOR TENNIS?
Did you know that a family membership subscription to Crockham Hill Tennis Club is a mere £45? Or that individual membership is only £35 per year? And if you pay your subscription before 1st March your name will go into the club’s Wimbledon Tickets Prize Draw. The Tennis Club actively encourages a wide membership of all ages and abilities, and caters to both non-competitive recreational players and competitive players. Membership is fantastic value for money – not only does it entitle you to use the two courts and the new clubhouse (complete with flushing toilet!), but also entitles you to tea and light refreshments every Saturday afternoon throughout the summer. On Saturdays from 2.30-5pm there is a general club mix-in (for over 14 year olds) where mixed doubles are played and tea is served, courtesy of a club rota, around 4 o’clock.
For particularly competitive players the club participates in both Weald and Kent inter-club leagues throughout the summer and winter; moreover, anyone keen for a vigorous knock-about of the ball is recommended to come by Saturday mornings 9.15-11pm. This year the club is promoting two-generation tennis in which parent-child pairings have fun nurturing the skills of our youngest players.
Year-round fitness, fun, friendship and food – in a safe and beautiful setting, for a nominal fee. Obtain a membership form either from Peter Stapleton (866288) or from the tennis clubhouse door. Be sure to get your subscription in by 1st March to be eligible for the Wimbledon Tickets Prize Draw. Alan Prout
